Discovery Postdoctoral Fellow, WNT Signaling, Cambridge, MA

Job Description

1 purpose... to reimagine medicine! The Novartis Institutes for BioMedical Research (NIBR) is the innovation engine of Novartis. We collaborate across scientific and organizational boundaries, with a focus on powerful new technologies that have the potential to help produce therapeutic breakthroughs for patients. Join the NIBR Postdoctoral program as a Discovery Fellow.

The WNT signaling pathway plays a pivotal role in stem cell renewal and tissue homeostasis. Our lab works on identification of novel targets in the WNT pathway and development of small molecule and antibody WNT modulators to treat cancer and degenerative diseases. We are looking for a highly motivated postdoctoral fellow to join our research group. The fellow will employ multiple experimental approaches to identify and characterize novel targets of the WNT pathway, including high-throughput screening, proteomics, CRISPR screening, chemical biology, structural biology, and mouse genetics. The fellow will also be involved in designing novel strategies to achieve cell type-selective targeting of WNT signaling for various disease indications. The fellow would have opportunities to interact with experts from multidisciplinary teams and have access to cross-departmental state-of-the-art resources. This is a unique opportunity for an independent, self-motivated candidate to enhance his/her academic training and professional horizons.

The successful candidate will join a vibrant scientific community and collaborate with other postdoctoral fellows mentored by a range of scientists across disciplines and platforms, including chemistry, structural biology, molecular biology, functional genomics, neurophysiology and translational medicine. Discovery Postdoctoral Fellows at NIBR have a unique opportunity to conduct innovative, interdisciplinary research and are expected to publish their results in leading journals. The postdoctoral term is up to 4 years.
