Leidos is seeking a Senior RedHat Administrator with Ansible to be part of the mission solution and help lead SSA's Digital Modernization Strategy. Join one of our high performing teams responsible for building the next-generation enterprise APIs and modern responsive user interfaces, supporting the Social Security Administration (SSA) and their mission to meet the changing needs of the public, positively impacting at least 65 million American lives per month. We are a team of forward-looking professionals in need of a strong candidate with these key required skills:

  • RHEL Enterprise Linux 6.x/7.x/8.x Platform Administration, installation, configuration, server patching, upgrading, provisioning, performance tuning, and problem resolution.
  • RHEL Ansible Playbook Development
  • Experienced in problem analysis and troubleshooting.
  • AWS Cloud hands-on experience

  • Support the database team with Linux expertise in performance issues, problem diagnosis, patching, upgrading, provisioning, and process improvement
  • Provide guidance/support to other junior/mid-level resources
  • Impact functional strategy by developing new solutions, processes, standards, or operational plans that position Leidos competitively in the marketplace
  • All other duties as assigned or directed.

FOUNDATION FOR SUCCESS (Basic Qualifications)

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field and 12 years of experience. Experience may be substituted in lieu of degree.
  • 7 years of experience as a Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.x/8.x Platform Administration (administration, installation, configuration, optimization, backup & recovery)
  • 7 years of experience with performance tuning & troubleshooting, identifying, and resolving memory, CPU, access, networking, disk I/O, etc.
  • 5 years of experience working Virtual Platforms
  • At least 3 years of experience developing with Ansible Playbooks (creating, developing, updating, and executing)
  • 3 years of experience with scripting languages for automation tasks and deployments (e.g., Bash Shell and Python)
  • Expertise in the Linux command-line environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong hands-on experience in AWS
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust. Contract requirement.

*** Selected candidate must reside within two (2) hours of SSA Headquarters in Woodlawn, MD

*** Selected candidate must be willing to work on-site at least 2 days a week.

FACTORS TO HELP YOU SHINE (Required Skills)

These skills will help you succeed in this position:

  • Solid experience as a Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) Administrator
  • Excellent knowledge and experience with RHEL applications and tools - Ansible, Satellite, RHEVM, etc.
  • Experience in providing support for installation, configuration and troubleshooting of middleware applications.

HOW TO STAND OUT FROM THE CROWD (Desired Skills)

Showcase your knowledge of modern development through the following experience or skills:

  • Adept at working independently, but also in a team environment
  • Demonstrated experience delivering technology solutions in a fast-paced, deadline driven enterprise environment
  • Excellent understanding of change management, testing requirements, techniques, and tools to ensure high availability of systems
  • Proven experience developing and maintaining Red Hat Ansible Playbooks
  • Prior Federal government experience
  • Self-starter, highly motivated individual who adapts to a dynamic work environment
  • Strong attention to detail with an ability to operate effectively across multiple priorities.
