Manufacturing is responsible for cost of production and maintenance activities including process improvement, supply chain management, quality assurance, employee safety and engagement, and environmental commitment.

Job Summary

The Manager, Assembly is responsible for a team of assembly workers across multiple shifts for a non-sterile manufacturing site. In this role you will ensure that production deadlines are met, while maintaining high quality and productivity outputs. The Assembly Manager identifies the appropriate amount of labor and resources required to meet/exceed production goals, introduces and implements new/improved processes as well as upgrades equipment as needed. You are responsible for achieving a safe working environment by ensuring that all team members adhere to quality standards and safety protocols set at the plant level. In this role you are responsible for all Human Resources activities inclusive of hiring, firing, performance management, and employee development. This role reports to the Director of Operations, regularly interacts with executive leadership, and plays a critical role in the management of the plant operations.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees all assembly and production operations at a single site across multiple shifts. Performs a variety of tasks ranging from repetitive to non-repetitive production to put together component parts to make assemblies, sub-assemblies or completed units, using standard operating procedures.
  • Provides leadership and direction to associates in a multi-zoned, multi-shift operation. Drives continues improvement in the areas of safety, quality, production throughput and cost optimization.
  • Establishes and actively manages the attainment of KPIs including production goals, strategic initiatives, headcount and quality standards.
  • Ensures an adequate number of resources are available to support production volume. Evaluates, adjusts and manages workforce planning/ staffing levels based on business unit insights, orders and site demand.
  • Reviews daily assembly production records to identify trends or potential performance issues with materials, processes, or personnel.
  • Provides training to new and existing employees to ensure an understanding of processes, procedures, and the proper operation of equipment.
  • Assesses the site for inefficiencies and addresses issues through the continuous improvement of current and potential processes, methods, etc.
  • Ensures adherence to all quality standard operating procedures through collaboration with the quality team to identify and mitigate quality risk factors.
  • Effectively collaborates with other functional areas including planning, warehouse operations, quality, finance, EH&S, etc.
  • May conduct quality inspections on processing line in accordance with quality specifications.
  • Fosters a positive culture by creating a working environment where teamwork, integrity, and collaboration are encouraged.
  • Ensures compliance with and communication of company policies and procedures. Addresses site specific concerns and sees issues through to problem resolution.

Qualifications

  • 8-10 years of experience preferred
  • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience in related field preferred
  • Strong people management and culture development skills
  • Strong communication skills; written and verbal
  • Ability to collect and analyze data as well as report out on trends
  • Proficiency with various PC programs and tools including MS Office, Tableau, etc.
  • Familiarity with relevant safety and medical device quality regulations
  • Lean Manufacturing experience or certification
  • Knowledge of quality assurance procedures

Anticipated salary range:$95,300 - $122,580
