Who we are looking for:

Toyota Financial Services (TFS) Data & Analytics (DnA) team is looking for a highly motivated, driven undergraduate/graduate students with an interest in technology, financial services, and the automotive industry to fill internship roles in our Data Engineering team.

The Data Engineering Internship Program is designed to provide a combination of on-the-job experience, networking, and mentorship, which are critical components for personal and professional growth. As a Data Engineering Intern, you will spend approximately 12 weeks at our Toyota Headquarters in Plano, TX gaining relevant work experience with a globally respected company. The program will run from June - August 2024. Strong performers are often given the opportunity to return for future internships and interview for full-time positions.

What you'll be doing:

Through this internship, you will prototype, build, operationalize, and support full-stack data solutions across the entire data processing pipeline and help productionize reusable and repeatable data frameworks to leverage and extend existing data feeds to deliver new capabilities to support TFS' digital modernization.

* Apply data and systems engineering principles to develop code spanning the data lifecycle including ingest, transform, consume end to end from source to consumption.

* Work with to build quick prototypes leveraging existing or new architecture.

* Provide end to end flow for data process, map technical solutions to the process.

* Develop & deploy code in continuous development pipelines.

* Perform software analysis, code analysis, requirements analysis, release analysis and deployment.

* Attend and participate (where appropriate) in various project planning and prioritization sessions.

What you bring:

* Undergraduate and/or Master's degree: Computer Science, Engineering, Management Information Systems, or other relevant disciplines with a cumulative GPA of 2.7 or higher.

* Hands-on development experience in distributed, analytical, cloud-based and open-source technologies

* Good understanding of databases like Snowflake

* Hands-on programming experience in Python and/or Java, SnowSQL

* Knowledge of cloud platforms like AWS

* Experience leveraging build and deploy tools (Github, Gradle, Maven, Jenkins)

* Ability to problem solve and think outside the box with a passion to learn and grow

* Presenting analysis results and making recommendations to leadership
