Our client is a leading real estate development company in Southern California, specializing residential development. Job Description: We are seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Supervisor to join their accounting team.The Accounts Payable Supervisor will oversee the day-to-day operations of the Accounts Payable department and ensure accurate and timely processing of invoices, payments, and vendor communications. Responsibilities: Manage and supervise the Accounts Payable team, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations. Review and approve invoices, ensuring accuracy, appropriate coding, and adherence to company policies and procedures. Process weekly check runs and electronic payments, including ACH and wire transfers. Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies or issues. Maintain vendor relationships and communicate effectively to resolve payment inquiries and negotiate payment terms. Collaborate with procurement and purchasing teams to ensure timely receipt and processing of invoices. Develop and implement process improvements to streamline Accounts Payable workflows and enhance efficiency. Prepare month-end and year-end accruals and assist with financial reporting as needed. Stay updated on industry best practices, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements related to Accounts Payable. Assist with special projects and ad hoc financial analysis as assigned by management. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounts payable, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role. Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices, including GAAP. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with vendors and internal stakeholders. Attention to detail and accuracy in processing financial transactions. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
