Primary duties will include work on microbiome projects, performing synthetic community experiments, DNA purification and quantitation from clinical samples, and ex vivo and synthetic community experiments, and maintaining sample records. Perform a variety of technical activities required for conducting tests and experiments in a school or research laboratory within the Institute. Includes data collection and analyses, experiment preparation and equipment setup and operation. This position will interact on a consistent basis with: academic and research faculty, co-workers. Educational Requirements Preferred Qualifications
* Must have a college degree, preferably in biological sciences or related field. * Must have either extensive experience with molecular biology (e.g. cloning, PCR, qPCR, RT-qPCR) or hands on experience with Next Gen Sequencing library preparation. The ideal candidate will have experience making 16S sequencing libraries or extensive experience performing qPCR. * Experience with multimode plate readers and/or lab automation is a plus * Must have experience with general bacteriology practices (e.g. aseptic technique, growth of bacteria), previous work with Pseudomonas aeruginosa and/or bacteriophage is a plus Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
