Automation Tech II

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Automation Technician II to join our automation team in the oil and gas industry. As an Automation Technician II, you will assist in the design, implementation, and maintenance of automation systems in our facilities.
Job Description:
  • Assist in the installation and configuration of control systems, including programmable logic controllers (PLCs), remote terminal unit (RTU), and human-machine interfaces (HMIs).
  • Maintains good working relationships with EOG production, midstream, and water groups.
  • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on control systems to ensure reliable and efficient operation.
  • Assist in the testing and commissioning of new control systems.
  • Read and interpret technical documentation such as electrical and pneumatic schematics, loop drawings, and control narratives.
  • Collaborate with other automation team members and cross-functional teams to identify and resolve technical issues.
  • Participate in safety meetings, safety audits, and safety programs to ensure compliance with safety regulations and protocols.
  • Document and maintain records of control system configuration changes, maintenance activities, and equipment inventory.
  • Stay up-to-date with new technologies and industry trends in automation systems.


JOB REQUIREMENTS

  1. 3+ years oilfield automation experience preferred.
  2. Maintains good working relationships with EOG production, midstream, and water groups.
  3. Assist with the installation and calibration of automation equipment, such as sensors, multiple brands of programmable logic controllers (PLCs), remote terminal unit (RTU), and human-machine interfaces (HMIs).
  4. Perform preventive maintenance on automation equipment and systems to ensure their proper operation and prevent equipment downtime or failure.
  5. Read and interpret technical documentation such as electrical and pneumatic schematics, loop drawings, and control narratives.
  6. Troubleshoot and diagnose automation problems and provide technical support to other personnel to help identify and resolve issues.
  7. Assist with the implementation of new automation systems, including system integration and commissioning.
  8. Develop and maintain documentation related to automation systems, including equipment specifications, schematics, and maintenance records.
  9. Participate in safety meetings and adhere to safety policies and procedures.
Good driving record required.
Position will be filled at a level commensurate with experience.
