General Statement The Salvation Army, an international movement, is an evangelical part of the universal Christian church. Its message is based on the Bible. Its ministry is motivated by the love of God. Its mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination. Position Summary In cooperation with the Corps Officer, maintain and develop the vibrant worshipping community within the bilingual and multiethnic community of San Luis Obispo. Assist in developing social, spiritual, and musical programs which are central to the Salvation Army beliefs. Develop community outreach programs which relate to and meet the needs of people who speak Spanish as their primary language. Essential Functions

Must be Bilingual-English/ Spanish. Must be a Salvationist in good standing. Have worked in Salvation Army Christian ministry with children and families. Able to advance the spiritual development of children and adults. Able to preach and lead a Salvation Army meeting in the absence of the Officer. Basic knowledge of computers and use of various "office" programs. (required)
