Job Description

Project name: Technology Refresh Program

Under general direction, the 1091 IT Operations Support Admin I will provide technical and operations support, systems and network administration; resolve, monitor, track and escalate IT problems and requests. Coordination with SFPUC IT staff and other City departments; manage and maintain IT hardware and software, work on special projects as assigned.

Essential Functions:

  • Provides 100% On-Site support
  • Provides 1st problem determination and technical support for network and desktop problems
  • Logs, tracks, and monitors all problems and requests and follow up on open trouble tickets for final resolution
  • Reviews and updates help desk solutions knowledge basedocumentation
  • Reviews and updates operating process and procedures documentation
  • Works with remote site administrators to resolve problems and implement IT service requests
  • Performs desktop, printer, and other computer peripheral installation and supports duties as assigned
  • Provides professional, courteous, and outstanding customer service
  • Assists in Telecommute and Mobility asset management and deployments

1091 IT Operations Support Admin I performs other related duties as required.

Qualifications

Education:

Requires an Associate's Degree in computer science or a closely related field from an accredited college or university OR its equivalent in terms of total course credits/units [i.e., at least sixty (60) semester or ninety (90) quarter credits/units with a minimum of twenty (20) semester or thirty (30) quarter credits/units in computer science or a closely-related field].

Substitution:

Experience performing analysis, installation and technical support in a network environment may be substituted for the required degree on a year-for-year basis (up to a maximum of two (2) years). One (1) year is equivalent to thirty (30) semester units / forty-five (45) quarter units with a minimum of 10 semester / 15 quarter units in computer science or a closely related field.

Completion of a one (1) year State (DAS) Information Technology apprenticeship program equivalent to the City and County of San Francisco's 1090 IT Operations Support Training Program may substitute for the required education.
