Summary:
The Information Desk Host II is responsible for directing visitors to appropriate departments, providing information such as patient room assignments, controlling visitors in the main lobby, ensuring consistent coverage and presenting a positive image to all who visit the Hospital.

Responsibilities:
1. Provides accurate information in response to telephone inquiries.
2. Greets all visitors professionally and gives accurate information.
3. Trains volunteers and newly assigned teammates on operation of information desk.
4. Provides consistent coverage by arranging schedules for teammates and volunteers.
5. Uses computer to look up home addresses of discharged patients; re-addresses mail for redelivery.
6. Prints daily class and meeting schedule.
7. Assists the department with general clerical duties such as tallying of Information Desk tasks, ordering supplies, scheduling meetings, and creating or editing miscellaneous Word and Excel documents.
8. Ensures communication with all Information Desk employees and volunteers concerning changes and information necessary to perform their duties.
9. Ensures all Information Desk data is kept current including forms, brochures, schedules, rosters, etc.
10. Ensures supplies are stocked for weekends and holidays.
11. Keeps current knowledge of Wayne County entities in order to relay information to others and assist customers in an outstanding manner.

Education
High School graduate or equivalent.

Licensure/ Certification
None

Experience
Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a customer service environment.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
* Ability to speak, read, write and communicate clearly and effectively in English.
* Ability to maintain effective working relationships and communication levels with teammates, supervisors, administration, and the general public.
* Ability to role model and use good telephone etiquette on all calls. * Ability to use the Hospital's computer for data retrieval.
* Knowledgeable of principles of universal precautions; able to routinely and consistently makes use of these principles. Also knowledgeable of infection control barriers and devices.
* Ability to use Microsoft Office programs including Word and Excel, and learn new software tools.

Valid NC Driver's License: No
If driving a Wayne UNC Vehicle, must be 21 years old and MVR must be approved by Risk Management.
