Job Summary Paradise Valley Community College is seeking to hire a Student Services Supervisor of Career Services who leads the career services department to ensure that every Puma emerges with career self-knowledge, employability skills, professional connections, and career opportunities. The manager aligns the department's efforts with the PVCC strategic plan, . Under general direction of the Dean of Student Affairs, the Supervisor of Career Services provides oversight of the PVCC Career Services and staff, and collaboratively leads campus efforts to improve career management programming, career opportunities and outcomes. The Manager implements the Career Services' strategic plan and oversees assessment of programs, initiatives, and strategies taken by Career Services to ensure its reach to students, alumni, employers and community members. The Manager and career services staff build mission-critical connections with community and industry that amplify the assets that PVCC students bring to the campus, to their professional careers and to the region. Collaborate with the Institutional Effectiveness office to facilitate assessment opportunities. Serve as a back-up Administrator in the event of the absence of the Academic Advising Director 25% Partner with Chairs, FOI leads, alumni, Analysts, and Student Life to lead and support FOI initiatives, job shadowing, co-curricular activities, First Year Programing (FYE) as well as Work Based Experiences (WBE) 20% Serve as career services thought leader, sharing insights and best practices with senior campus leadership, faculty and career services leaders. Collaborate with PVCC departments to leverage the use of Maricopa PipelineAZ. Collaborate with the Institutional Effectiveness office to facilitate assessment opportunities 5% Participate in the MCCCD District Career Advisory Council, the National Association of Colleges & Employers (NACE) and other regional and national professional development opportunities (As budgets and time management allow) 5% Other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited institution in education, sociology, business administration or directly related field and four years of student services or related experience that includes such things as administration of policies and procedures, program oversight and two years of supervisory experience. Experience overseeing an office or department. OR An equivalent combination of the conferred degree and directly related full-time work experience as described above sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation, may be considered.
