Paradise Valley Community College (PVCC) is seeking a Student Services Analyst in Career Services who is instrumental in guiding students, alumni, and community members toward successful career paths. The role involves providing personalized advising, coaching sessions, and organizing engaging events to support career exploration and development. Collaborating closely with the Supervisor of Career Services to strategize program initiatives, maintain effective communication with stakeholders, and promote campus resources. The Student Services Analyst in Career Services plays a crucial role in connecting individuals with valuable career resources and opportunities. From offering comprehensive advising services to organizing impactful events, you'll guide students, alumni, and community members through every step of their career journey. Essential Functions

25% Provide student, community member and alumni advising through "drop-in" services and 1:1 appointments to a diverse student body at all stages of career exploration and professional development, across all (FOI) fields of interest. Support academic advising drop-in services (as needed).

20% Coach current students, community members and recent alumni in career planning and preparation activities including: career exploration consultations; Work Based Experiences (WBE); job applications; mock interviews; job shadowing

15% Support and present multiple career-related events, webinars, workshops, and classroom presentations each semester on topics related to job and WBE search strategies and the career development process. Assist with advising related presentations (as needed)

15% Work with the Supervisor of Career Services in planning yearly program strategies. Demonstrate ongoing excellence in professional communication through email, video conference, telephone, and face-to-face communication with all stakeholders. Oversee maintenance of the Career Services web page. Research appropriate links for inclusion. Maintain records and compile reports

10% Support multiple career exploration initiatives such as Job Shadowing, Maricopa Pipeline AZ and FOI specific Career Fairs and FOI specific Alumni Career Panels. Fosters relationships with a variety of student organizations and Student Leaders and Student Mentors to increase student engagement and collaboration efforts

10% Build and maintain a strong knowledge of campus resources and events, cross-promoting through multiple marketing and social media channels and student engagement

5% Duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited institution and two years of student services or college teaching experience, or experience coordinating, administering, planning, or evaluating programs.

OR

An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation.

Desired Qualifications
  1. Master's degree preferred in the areas of Career Services or Student Affairs
  2. Familiar with career exploration resources such as O'Net, Occupational Outlook Handbook (OOH), Strong Interest Inventory
  3. Two years of Career Advising Experience in a Community College in the Career Services office or three years' experience in Community College student services
  4. Advanced technology skills, particularly knowledge of Google Docs, MS Office Suite, and social media platforms


Special Working Conditions
  • May require possession of a valid State of Arizona Class D Driver's License or other state license; employee must meet district minimum standards regarding driving:
  • Travel to campus during interview/selection process will be at candidate's own expense
  • MCCCD does not sponsor individuals for any type of work visas
  • Will be required to travel or be assigned to all MCCCD locations
  • May require travel or work at the Black Mountain campus
  • May require numerous evenings or weekends
  • May require prolonged periods of standing, sitting and viewing a computer screen
  • May be required to lift or carry up to #25 lbs.
