Job ID:109321 The Leonardo DRS Land Electronics business provides C4I Network computing and integrated situational awareness, as well as state-of-the-art embedded diagnostics, vehicle power management and combat vehicle integration products and services. Job Summary As a Mechanical FEA Engineer, you will be part of the mechanical engineering team with various assignments by program teams for development of complex mechanical solutions that meet the challenges of a tactical computing environment. Your role will consist of conducting Finite Element Analysis (stress and/or thermal), evaluate mechanical designs and recommend appropriate design approaches based on results. Job Responsibilities Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: Perform detailed stress and thermal Finite Element Analysis (FEA) (such as modal, transient, CFD, SRS) Support testing of products, systems or subsystems(Vibration, Shock, Thermal) Deliver detailed reports of FEA/Testing results and provide proposed product improvements Perform and support initial and ongoing design reviews Specify and evaluate supplier components, subsystems and services Support and participate in technical activity May use computer-aided engineering or other design/analysis software in the performance of assignments Ability to work independently under supervision of others Provide regular reporting of progress and status Responsible for completion of assigned task on time and meeting technical requirements Review customer specifications and requirements, and under direction, develop designs to best support them, including cost as a key design variable Specify and evaluate supplier components, subsystems and services Support the program design to cost and design for manufacture requirements Develop prototypes to retire key development risks as directed Communicate clearly (written and oral) with other company personnel and the customer as required May participate in preparation of less complex proposals Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related technical field Finite Element Analysis Experience Desired that candidate is proficient in thermal and structural FEA Desired that candidate has experience with instrumentation equipment (DAQ Systems, accelerometers, strain gauge, etc.) Ability to use ANSYS, BK Connect and Ansys Icepak or Fluent CFD software Ability to use PTC CREO software for mechanical design Desired experience in mechanical electronic packaging Taking care of our people is a top priority at Leonardo DRS.
