Job Description and Duties
Are you a heavy equipment professional with a love for problem solving on a diverse range of equipment and vehicles? From large construction equipment such as backhoes and forklifts to medium and heavy duty trucks, vans, sedans and SUVs, the California Department of Corrections (CDCR) has an amazing opportunity for you!

Based in our regional headquarters located at the infamous Folsom State Prison with free parking and easy access from Hwy 50, a successful candidate in this position will primarily provide excellent service and maintenance for this location with the possibility of regional or state wide reimbursed travel. In addition to a healthy pension plan, up to 14 paid holidays per year, medical/dental and vision benefits, those in possession of a Class A or Class B commercial driver license will also enjoy a 5% monthly salary incentive.

Working Conditions

Some services inside secured locations may be required along with intermittent incarcerated person supervision and or interaction. Reimbursed travel may be required to multiple institutional locations.

Possession of Minimum Qualifications will be verified prior to interview and/or appointment. Candidates new to CDCR or the Division of Juvenile Justice are required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan Fingerprinting, and Tuberculosis testing prior to appointment followed by department annual Tuberculosis testing/evaluation thereafter.

Individuals who are currently in the classification, eligible for lateral transfer, eligible for reinstatement, have list eligibility, are in the process of obtaining list eligibility, or have SROA and/or Surplus eligibility (please attach your letter, if available).
