Job Summary

The Creative Manager manages Denver Health's overall brand strategy and creative assets workflow system. Oversees and brings together outside graphic designers, Marketing/Communication team members and leadership, related hospital marketing teams, and other hospital stakeholders to create unique and unified brand opportunities for internal and external communications. Builds consistency across all channels and departments within the hospital system and develops a workflow management system that reduces redundancies and resource waste across all marketing channels.

Exercises individual judgment and provides expert advice on communications to senior level managers and leads in the creation of Denver Health marketing and advertising campaigns for channels such as traditional and digital marketing, social media, internal communications, and all business and brand collateral. Responsible for brand and messaging consistency in brand identity, brand guidelines, brand positioning, advertising creative, and other communication material; and for conducting consumer research and using data and insight to inform the brand and creative process.

Essential Functions:

  • Produces, and supervises the production of, all design and graphic design requests for the hospital system - to include but not limited to: logo creation, advertising creatives, print materials and other marketing or communications collateral. (15%)
  • Manages daily marketing requests, assigning to appropriate team members and communicates clearly with stakeholders throughout Denver Health (15%)
  • Works with marketing team to develop (or project management in the development of) advertising creatives for all service lines/departments. Builds and delivers key presentations to management/department heads as required. Coordinates with Marketing team members to ensure advertising creative is implemented across all marketing channels (digital, traditional, social media, website, etc.). (10%)
  • Works in collaboration with marketing colleagues across Denver Health to continuously optimize creative material, based upon analytics. (10%)
  • Oversees Denver Health brand management: Ensures brand and style consistency; helps expand departments into the Denver Health brand fold; leads new brand development projects; manages vendor relationships to maintain brand standards for department purchases; and trains other department leads on brand look and style. (10%)
  • Maintains and updates the Denver Health brand identity and positioning strategy, as well as the brand guidelines. Socializes the guidelines across DH departments and with agencies to ensure consistency and generate high-quality creative work. (10%)
  • Manages agencies and contractors to achieve brand consistency and cost synergies. Assesses suppliers and coordinates competitive bidding to ensure quality standards are achieved and costs are managed. (10%)
  • Manages collaboration projects between DHHA, Denver Public Health Institute at Denver Health , Denver Health Medical Plan, and Denver Health Foundation to update brand standard guidelines, develop new campaigns, and coordinate workflow. Works with marketing team colleagues across all Denver Health divisions to identify marketing communications needs and puts in place the resources to meet these requirements. (10%)
  • Collaborates in signage design for all new and existing locations across Denver Health property. Works with the engineering, compliance, vendors, city officials and other teams to ensure the implementation of the Denver Health Comprehensive Signage Plan (CSP). Manages all brand aspects on all internal and external signage. (5%)
  • Creates tools and resources to streamline the process for DH departments to request graphic design services. (5%)

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree Graphic Design, Marketing, or related discipline required.

Work Experience:

  • 4-6 years design, marketing, brand management and communication skills required.
  • 1-3 years health care design marketing and brand management preferred.

Licenses:

  • Publications & Graphic Arts\Adobe Certified Expert (ACE) preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong understanding of creative development process, from scoping and build, to presentation and ad refinement. Project management and good knowledge of brand trends and advertising creative work.
  • Ability to maintain effective interpersonal relationships
  • Deadline-driven with excellent organizational skills. Good judgment and can work cooperatively in an integrated team environment. Self-starter who works well under minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to accurately prepare and create graphic design for stakeholders
  • Ability to review data and advertising creative metrics as it relates to ad performance; ability to analyze and revise creative ad sets based on data feedback; work with outside agencies to implement additional brand vision into all marketing/communication channels.
  • Judgment and Decision Making - Considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one.
  • Active Listening- Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.
