Job Summary GateWay Community College (GWCC) Library seeks an innovative, dynamic, and deeply knowledgeable library professional to serve as Librarian. The person hired for this role will be responsible for a broad range of electronic services (research databases, remote authentication, link resolver, access tools) activities, managing the full lifecycle of electronic resources, acquisition, analyzing usage statistics, coordinating renewals, updates to library technologies, and working with vendors. They will provide a key leadership role by training library employees on new library technologies, and troubleshooting all technological issues including both software and hardware. As library faculty, the person hired for this role will participate in college and district wide programs and committees. This position performs reference and instruction services both in person and online. The expected start date for this position is August 2024. Essential Functions
Minimum Qualifications 1. A Master's degree in Library or Information Science (or its equivalent) from a graduate professional program accredited by the American Library Association (ALA) A Master's degree (or higher) in any of the following areas is within the Library Field of Study: Library and Information Studies, Information Studies, Library and Information Science, Library Science, Information Resources and Library Science, Information Science AND is from a college or university program accredited by the American Library Association (ALA).
