Community Education Coordinator

Full-time

JOB SUMMARY

Coordinates the requirements of the Community Education Programs under the leadership of a Lead Coordinator to ensure AMR is in compliance contractually with outside vendors and the communities served.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES

  • Assists with developing and maintaining a community education/training program that meets or exceeds current county ASA contracts. The program will address EMS access; prevention, recognition and response to heart attacks; and injury prevention.
  • Assists with coordination of injury prevention courses consistent with offerings made in various county proposals. Including, but not limited to at least 20 classrooms or schools per year.
  • Provides a minimum of one CPR course per month to the public.
  • Provides inservice training to first responders consistent with offerings made in various county proposals.
  • Functions as training liaison between long term care facilities and the company.
  • Participates with public education opportunities including EMS fairs, displays and exhibits.
  • Coordinates monthly public information articles to run in local newspapers and journals.
  • Assists with the publishing of an AMR/EMS education newsletter.
  • Participates in cable access and public radio programs to provide public service as directed.

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience:

  • 1-3 years prior experience in public relations, training programs, education programs in similar industry.

Education:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • CPR Instructor Certification preferred.
  • Health Education/Community Education experience helpful.

Knowledge/Skills:

  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member.
  • Ability to employ discretion and confidentiality in sensitive areas.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and follow instructions on memos, letters and various
  • Ability to perform the essential job functions.
  • Good public speaking ability.
  • Knowledge of working exhibits, shows and marketing fairs to ensure company is presented in positive formats.
  • Knowledge of community organizations, and their leaders to work with promoting AMR.
  • Ability to work with people of all ages in communicating educational programs and promotional programs for AMR.
