Responsibilities

Registered Nurse (RN) Manager - Emergency Department (ED) position located at Corona Regional Medical Center in Corona, CA

This is a full-time, night shift position.

The Manager of Emergency implements and evaluates delivery of patient care with 24-hour responsibility for total management of the Emergency Department. Provides direction and evaluation of all nursing personnel, and maintains operational aspects of the patient care unit in collaboration with support services. Working with the Department Director, is responsible to assure that HCAPS, patient, employee, and physicians satisfaction scores are all in acceptable ranges. Responsible for communication with team members both one on one and in monthly staff and clinical unit huddles/meetings. Responsible for day-to day operations of the ED department, identifying needs of staff and resolves issues to improve patient care.

The tradition of caring that culminated in the establishment of Corona Regional Medical Center began in 1965, with the founding of Corona Community Hospital. Since that time the hospital has changed to meet the needs of the rapidly growing community. Corona Community Hospital merged with Circle City Medical Center in 1992 and the resulting entity became Corona Regional Medical Center. The merged hospitals are now a 238-bed community hospital network comprised of a 160-bed acute care hospital and a 78-bed rehabilitation campus. It is certified by The Joint Commission, employs more than 1,250 trained healthcare workers and has a medical staff of approximately 347 physicians representing more than 40 specialties.


Qualifications

EDUCATION/TRAINING/ EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited College or University in related field.
  • Master's degree from an accredited College or University in related field.
  • Five (5) years of clinical experience in Emergency or Critical Care as a Registered Nurse.
  • Minimum three (3) years acute care nursing leadership experience in Emergency.

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES:

  • Current license as a Registered Nurse in the State of California.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR Certification through the American Heart Association.
  • Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification through the American Heart Association.
  • Current Pediatric Life Support (PALS) Certification through the American Heart Association.
  • MICN and TNCC (required within 1 year for IVMC only).
  • CEN or CCRN preferred.
