As a Model Based Systems Engineer, you will support the Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) Training Systems Program Office with PMA 205. NAVAIR has undertaken an organization-wide initiative to implement a Systems Engineering Transformation (SET), which will reengineer the entire systems acquisition process. The goal is to incorporate the latest approaches in Digital Engineering and Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), and requires sets of related models that describe and analyze the desired systems. The selected candidate will directly support PMA 205 in guiding and developing the system models required supporting their Live, Virtual, and Constructive training systems in meeting program milestones. The selected candidate will be responsible for: This is a 100% on-site position - not eligible for telework.

  • Supporting program modeling activities by developing and maintaining SysML models in Cameo Systems Modeler in coordination with program and SET subject matter experts.
  • Reviewing existing models and documentation to determine compliance with best practices in Systems Engineering and MBSE.
  • Developing solutions to modeling challenges that support the interoperability and modeling goals of the program office and mission objectives.
  • Collection and verification of information to be included in modeling efforts, including coordination with both internal and external program stakeholders.
  • Engaging with program and project leadership to support communication of modeling status and potential usage.
  • Maintaining and improving proficiency and expertise in the most current MBSE concepts, tools, techniques, and practices.
  • Working to develop tools, presentations, and processes to support communicating the status of modeling efforts to program leadership and other stakeholders.
  • Support program MBSE implementation efforts by providing MBSE related information and training to other program team members as needed

Requirements

Education, Skills, and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related scientific discipline with 5+ years of related experience.
  • At least 3 years of working with SysML Models in a professional environment.
  • Experience developing SysML models at the project and system level.
  • Experience with Cameo Systems Modeler, Cameo Enterprise Architect, Magic Draw, or similar SysML based modeling software.

Security Clearance Requirements:

  • This position requires U.S. Citizenship and an active Top Secret clearance. Selected candidate will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information
