DESCRIPTION

As a member of the Blood and Marrow Transplant Outpatient Team, the Case Manager coordinates care and treatments, has primary care and nursing duties involving complete oncology care for patients and their families, acts as a liaison with other departments to coordinate patient treatment and care. Other duties include: develop, interpret, evaluate, implement and document plan of care for the BMT clinic patients, provide specific teaching, counseling, consultation and nursing care both independently and as directed by the physician or advanced practitioner.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Must be a graduate from an accredited school of nursing.

  • RN License issued by the State of California.

  • BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months of hire date.

  • Minimum two (2) years of Hematology/Oncology/BMT experience required.

  • Must have current knowledge of chemotherapy protocols.

  • Must have strong knowledge of cancer care, diagnosis and treatment.

  • Must have the ability to recognize and manage oncologic emergencies.

  • Must have positive communication and telephone skills and positive stress management and coping skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • BSN
  • OCN/BMTCN certification.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
  • Must be able to work with vulnerable patients throughout their cancer journey
  • Must be able to work various hours, days, shifts, and various locations based on business needs.
  • Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.
  • Selected candidate may be hired at the CNIII or CNIV level pending review and approval by the Nurse Executive Council.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $123,902 - $173,659 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $59.34 - $83.17

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
