Staff Research Associate 2

Description We are looking for a team player to join our dynamic group and perform basic scientific research in the areas of lung repair and regeneration, cancer and fibrosis. Your primary duty will be to provide technical support in the research grade laboratory. You will perform various techniques involving tissue culture of mammalian cells (human and murine) with sterile aseptic techniques and will perform DNA/RNA/Protein isolation/extraction/quantification from assorted biological material and tissue.
In this role, you will perform cell culture work, immunohistochemistry/immunofluorescence, DNA/RNA/protein assays, research data procurement, and data analysis. You will also perform laboratory supervisory tasks including meticulous records keeping, maintaining laboratory equipment and supplies, stocking and placing laboratory orders.
Salary range: $27.09-$43.58 Hourly
Qualifications Required:
* BS degree in Biological-related field or equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
* At least 2-year experience working in the field of cell and molecular biology.
* Working knowledge and experience in general cell biology, molecular biology techniques (PCR, qPCR, immunoblots, ELISA)
* Knowledge of cell culture (including primary cells and cell lines) and virus production (Lentivirus) and transduction.
* Ability to keep organized, descriptive and accurate laboratory records.
Computer proficient for word processing, data tabulation, graphing, email and scientific data base search (NCBI-PubMed). * Experience using EndNote.
* Ability and knowledge to operate basic laboratory equipment, i.e. centrifuge, tissue culture hood and related equipment, autoclaving, weighing, pipetting microliter volumes etc.
* Ability and working knowledge of DNA/RNA/protein purification and quantification; PCR-proficient
* Excellent communication skills to interact with other researchers, vendors, suppliers, and maintenance engineers
* Exceptional organizational and multi-tasking abilities.
* Knowledge of preparing solutions at different concentrations and volumes i.e. 1mM Il-2, 0.1N NaOH
Preferred:
* Experience with Multiparametric Flow Cytometry
* Experience with rodent breeding, handling, surgical techniques and dissection skills
* Knowledge and ability to order supplies utilizing Bruin Buy on a quote-based system and maintain laboratory equipment.
* Knowledge of GraphPad Prism
* Knowledge of lung biology
* Experience with training and supervising others
* Under Supervisor directions, capacity to provide project oriented assistance and maintain a research grade facility
