Precision Concrete Construction, Inc. (www.precision-concrete.com) constructs the most challenging concrete projects throughout the Southeast.

Founded in 1986, Precision Concrete operates on a diverse set of projects throughout the construction industry. Projects cover market sectors such as retail, healthcare, entertainment, institutional, airport, heavy industrial and multifamily.

Position Summary

Working craft position. Perform tasks involving physical labor at construction sites. May operate hand and power tools of all types: air hammers, earth tampers, cement mixers, small mechanical hoists, surveying and measuring equipment, and a variety of other equipment and instruments. May clean and prepare sites, dig trenches, set braces to support the sides of excavations, erect scaffolding, and clean up rubble, debris and other waste materials. Able to work independently and if required, assist other craft workers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.



  • Carry materials/tools
  • Job Site clean up
  • Mix materials
  • Inventory of hardware and supplies.
  • Control traffic passing near, in, or around work zones.
  • Clean or prepare construction sites to eliminate possible hazards.
  • Dig ditches or trenches, backfill excavations, or compact and level earth to grade specifications, using picks, shovels, pneumatic tampers, or rakes.
  • Stacks, handles and inventory lumber, rebar and other materials.
  • Place, rake and vibrate concrete.
  • Apply and mix filler, putty, and other materials.
  • Removes paint, lacquer, and other finishes from wood products and sands rough spots to prepare surfaces for finishing.
  • Examines materials and products for defects, finish, and grade, and accuracy of dimension and matching panels.
  • Load, unload, or identify building materials, machinery, or tools, distributing them to the appropriate locations, according to project plans or specifications.
  • Set-up pumps, line systems, compressors, or generators to provide power for tools, machinery, or equipment, or move materials, such as concrete.
  • Erect or dismantle scaffolding, shoring, braces, traffic barricades, ramps, or other temporary structures.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and/or Experience

Less than high school education; or three months related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills

Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
