About this Position:

The purpose of the Senior Programmer Analyst role is to lead transformative systems and applications strategy design for the AHM IT Development & Manufacturing Systems (DMS) Division and drive the development and execution of Manufacturing Systems Applications (MSA) technical roadmaps and standards to meet North America Enterprise IT vision and strategy objectives. This is a pivotal role that will be a catalyst for the DMS Division's success in the realization of AHM and HDMA's digital transformation business objectives. The Senior Programmer Analyst will establish and align internal strategic partnerships across AHM and HDMA spanning all NA manufacturing plants, Enterprise Architecture, Infrastructure, Supply Chain, and Design Center functions in addition to cultivating and strengthening strategic partnerships with external applications software vendors.

The Senior Programmer Analyst has the responsibility to provide strategic counsel to DMS leadership to identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support cost-effective systems and applications and/or services for all aspects of the organization. This role will also consult with external industry-leading technical advisors to define application architecture and standards, policies, procedures, best practices, and target state as it relates to the systems and applications deployed for support of NA automobile, powertrain, and Powersports manufacturing operations delivery.

Responsibilities include:




  • Work with and provide strategic counsel to a broad range of management levels from individual contributors to senior managers within the North American region and globally.
  • Lead complex projects to completion and provide consulting support while engaging multiple stakeholders both within the North American region and globally.
  • Lead the strategy design, development, implementation, and maintenance of complex systems and application solutions.
  • Create and maintain current and target state application and database architectures.
  • Define and manage application technology standards, guidelines, and processes to ensure the best quality.
  • Consult with external industry-leading application solution providers to ensure third-party application solutions are in alignment with enterprise architecture principles and target state.
  • Oversee end-to-end systems development life cycle management activities.
  • Consult with external leading solutions providers to evaluate and recommend emerging technologies.



Qualifications

Who we are seeking:

Required Work Experience:




  • 8-12 years of practical experience


  • Qualified candidates must have expert knowledge of at least 2 of these disciplines:

    • Software development principles (DevOps, Release management, CI/CD)
    • Enterprise Application Lifecycle Management Applications from Atlassian (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, Bamboo), IBM (Engineering Workflow Mgmt., Engineering Test Mgmt.), and others (GitHub, Jenkins)
    • Integration Platforms
    • Container Platforms such as OpenShift




  • Qualified candidates must have a working knowledge of at least 2 of these IT disciplines:

    • Computer Operating systems, database, and application administration
    • Programming skills (compiled languages and scripting)
    • Fundamentals of DevSecOps framework
    • Agile Development methods





Required Education:

BS in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, and/or equivalent industry experience

  • Ability to regularly learn and adopt new technologies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate across all levels of the organization and work with diverse project teams.
