Responsibilities

Brentwood Hospital is looking for a dynamic Adolescent Services Nurse Manager! The Nurse Manager, RN delivers quality general and psychiatric nursing care to adult patients typically (18 and up) with psychiatric or emotional disorders, addictive disease disorders or related substance or chemical dependency problems, or those duly diagnosed with psychiatric and chemical dependency disorders, to adolescents (typically age 12 to 17) and children (ages 4 to 11) with psychiatric or emotional disorders and to geriatric patients (typically age 65 and up) with psychiatric or emotional disorders; Serves actively and constructively as a member of the multi-disciplinary treatment team, supporting the organization's and adult, adolescent and child program philosophy of care; to ensure the safety and well-being of each patient.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. Ensures adequate staffing on the unit to meet patient demand and adjusts accordingly as needed.

2. Communicates effectively with physicians and resolves unit issues in a timely and efficient manner.

3. Manages unit FTEs and overtime with regard to budget; understands financial impact to facility goals.

4. Exemplary communication skills.

5. Understands, follows, and supports risk management and infection control policies and procedures.

6. Intervenes appropriately in crisis situations.

7. Conducts ad hoc treatment team as needed. Monitors treatment plans for completion and accuracy. Attends treatment team meetings as needed.

Qualifications

  • Education: Graduate from an accredited program of professional nursing required. Bachelors Degree preferred.
  • Experience: Currently eligible to practice as a registered nurse per guidelines of the Louisiana State Board of Nursing and minimum of 2 years previous supervisor/manage experience. Previous adolescent patient experience preferred.
  • Licensure: Possesses current Louisiana Registered Nurse license. Additional Requirements: CPR certification, CPI and Verbal De-Escalation Certifications provided by Brentwood Hospital.
  • Hours: As assigned by the CNO
