This position will initially be hired through a staffing agency on a temporary basis with opportunity for permanent hire after 30 days. Summary: A Production Assembler is responsible for operating equipment in a factory or warehouse and preparing items for distribution. Performs repetitive bench or line assembly operations to mass-product products such as valves for plumbing and heating purposes by performing the following duties: Responsibilities: * Assemble components accurately, thoroughly and quickly to approve specifications and quality standards * Places parts in specified relationship to each other * Bolts, clips, screws, or otherwise fastens parts together * Tends machines, such as automated machinery, to perform operations on assembly line * Rotate through multiple stations on a shift to be familiar with all assembly * Communicate with other stations on the assembly line to ensure maximum speed and accuracy * Routinely practice 6s (Safety, Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) * Ensures that workstation is clean and free of hazardous materials * Conserve resources and supplies to facilitate minimum waste * Packs up completed products and prepares them for shipment * Reports issues or problems with production (equipment defects) to immediate Supervisor * Observe and removes fault product parts from assembly line * Other duties as assigned. Other: * Consistently demonstrates and incorporates principals of safety for self and others into daily activities. Attends required safety training and participates in safety exercises * Develops and maintains a clean, safe working environment for self and co-workers * Consistently maintains acceptable level of productivity Skills: * Required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms * Required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel components or using controls on an assembly machine * Required to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, 15 pounds, & 20 pounds * Required to stand on feet for long periods of time * Often performing repetitious motions | |
