Doing what is right for the Warfighter is reflected in everything we do. We have an opportunity for a Systems Specialist to support our Navy customer in Kent, WA. The ideal candidate will be an MPRA EWO SME; in this role, you be our training expert for operator manuals (baseline and FMS). You will also provide technical expertise on the latest software and improvements in support of software development, integration, and test. This position is based in Kent, WA with some flexibility for telework. NATIP-specific responsibilities include:
- Support PMA-290 as the primary EWO for Naval Aviation Technical Information Product (NATIP) development
- Analyzing data to develop training materials that emphasize the differences between software and hardware for fleet releases for the NATIP
- Generating content as a technical writer and subject matter expert to keep the permanent flight clearance up to date for FMS deliveries
- Performing onsite testing and training support (operator and trainer) as required
- Coordinating with the Fleet (MPRWS) and DT/OT testers on current and future capabilities
- Reviewing software design documents for accuracy
- Reviewing defects and providing solutions for systems
- Attend P-8A Software Defect Review Board
- Track and report software defects and assist Navy department leaders to classify the importance level, correct deficiencies, and improve the performance of the mission system software for the aircraft
- Providing hands-on testing of P-8A baseline and FMS software on the Integration Lines, Software Development Lines (SDLs), and Weapon System Integration Lab (WSIL)
- Participate in developing Operator Machine Interface (OMI) design for P-8 to enhance and reduce operator workload in non-acoustic sensor operations
- FMS EWO subject matter expert for non-acoustic systems
- These tasks are not all-inclusive; additional duties may be required by the government customer
Requirements Education, Skills, and Experience:
- A minimum of 10 years P-8A Non-Acoustic systems operational experience required
- Bachelor's degree is preferred
- NATOPS instructor/evaluator preferred
- MPRWS Instructor/WTI preferred
- P-8 NATOPS qualification is preferred
- Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with internal and external customers
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
- Proactive personality with the ability to work with limited guidance and supervision
- Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Adept at managing competing priorities and initiating projects
Security Clearance Requirements:
- This position requires U.S. citizenship and an active DoD Secret clearance.
Salary Range:
- The estimated salary range for this position will be $75,000 - $105,000 annually, based on an individual's level of experience and skillset. This range is given as an estimate and may vary based on contractual constraints. It is our goal at ASEC to provide an equitable compensation to all employees.
