Job Description Post Doctoral Researcher to pursue research on characterization of regulatory mechanisms of viral innate immune regulation and cytokine signaling under the guidance of scientific mentor in the Department of Microbial Infection amp; Immunity; designs, conducts, and evaluates research experiments; plans and executes advanced immunology, virology, biochemistry, tissue culture, and microscopy techniques; develops, adopts and implements new laboratory methods; analyzes and interprets data; writes research papers for publication; performs scientific literature searches; presents research findings at local, national, or international scientific meetings; applies for postdoctoral fellowships; assists PI with writing and submitting grant proposals to obtain extramural funding in support of research; performs scientific literature searches; participates in journal clubs, laboratory meetings, and Department seminars and activities; assists with training of other lab members. Minimum Education Required MD, PhD, or MD/PhD required. Required Qualifications Ability to interact in a highly multidisciplinary environment; experience with immunology, virology, biochemistry, tissue culture, and microscopy desired; experience with animal handling and husbandry desired. Requires successful completion of a background check; qualified candidates may be requested to complete a pre-employment physical, including a drug screen.
