Essential Duties and Responsibilities
* Operate a Class A tractor trailer and responsible for loading and offloading product safely. * Operate the vehicle safely in traffic situations and follow the policies and procedures of the company. * Conduct pre-trip inspection checklist on equipment such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil, and water. * Complete/handle paperwork concerning Department of Transportation regulations, freight weigh bills, fuel tickets and load tickets. * Carry out detailed instructions, take and follow directions to job sites. * Use good judgement in decision-making and be able to work without direct supervision. * Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures.
Requirements
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: This position requires a Class A CDL license and an excellent driving record. All drivers are required to be Department of Transportation certified. All candidates must have a current D.O.T. medical card. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combinations of education and experience. LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Ability to understand and act upon verbal instructions and to communicate clearly with other individuals. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. WORK ENVIRONMENT: While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly is exposed to moving mechanical parts, outside weather conditions, and vibration. The employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.
