Physical Requirements This position requires intermittently sitting at a computer workstation for extended periods of time and performing tasks with repetitive motions; and occasionally standing or walking with objects weighing up to 25 pounds; and lifting, pushing, and/or pulling objects weighing up to or over 50 pounds. Also involves some job-related travel (less than 10% of time); exposure to risk of injury from moving, lifting, or positioning patients, equipment, or materials; and exposure to hazardous chemicals and fumes including waste, cuts/punctures, and blood-borne or airborne pathogens. Shift Pharmacy Technicians in Chandler Retail Pharmacy work 37.5 hours per week (rotating shifts) during various pharmacy hours of operation; shifts are primarily scheduled during the hours of 7:00am - 7:00pm (Monday through Friday), and 7:00am - 5:00pm (Saturday/Sunday). This position may include some holiday and/or evening/overnight shift requirements. Shifts and rotations will be discussed during interview and are subject to change based on needs of the department. Job Summary This position will assist pharmacists with medicine preparation and distribution in the KY Clinic Pharmacy and/or other retail pharmacy sites operating under University of Kentucky Pharmacy Services. Primary duties include filling and distributing prescriptions in a busy retail-based setting and providing exceptional customer service to pharmacy customers and patients. The successful Pharmacy Senior Technician will be reliable, punctual, works well within a team, and possesses exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. Pharmacy Senior Technicians for Ambulatory Pharmacy Services will play an integral role in ensuring overall customer satisfaction and that a positive patient experience are achieved for all Chandler and Good Samaritan retail pharmacy patrons. Does this position have supervisory responsibilities? No Preferred Education/Experience Two years of previous work experience (in a related field). Prefer previous pharmacy tech experience or work/classes in medical field. Hired candidate must maintain state licensure in good standing. Must have 2 years of full-time (or pro-rated) pharmacy technician experience and must be a Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT).
