Job Summary

Graduate teaching assistants will assist with teaching 3-4 introductory biology laboratory sections per semester. Duties include:

  • GTAs will set up and take down laboratories each week
  • Provide instruction during assigned course section meeting times
  • Provide support to students in the assigned course sections
  • Provide grades and feedback to the Biology Laboratory Coordinator who supervises all introductory biology laboratories.
  • Finally, all GTAs meet weekly with the Biology Laboratory Coordinator to prepare the following week's laboratories.
Required Qualifications

  • Enrolled in the M.S. in Biology graduate program
  • Must work on campus in laboratories and handle chemicals and equipment necessary for laboratory exercises. Weekly meetings review requirements for upcoming laboratories.
Preferred Qualifications

  • Thesis track students are given preference
