Adult Congenital Heart Disease (ACHD) - Faculty Search

University of California, San Francisco, Division of Cardiology, Department of Medicine

The Cardiology Division at the University of California, San Francisco is seeking a board eligible/board certified Adult Congenital Cardiologist for a full-time faculty position. The selected candidate must hold a MD (or MD equivalent), MD/PhD, or MD/MPH degree and will be appointed at the level of Instructor, Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor in the appropriate academic series at the University based on qualifications and interests.

Our program works collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team of adult and pediatric cardiologists, adult and congenital surgery, congenital and structural intervention, electrophysiology, hepatology, advanced heart failure and pulmonary hypertension and high risk Maternal Fetal Medicine specialists including genetics providing state of the art and dedicated high quality services, attracting a large population of ACHD patients from all over Northern California. The selected faculty will contribute to the ACHD outpatient practices located at the Parnassus and/or Mission Bay campuses, the inpatient consult services as well as participate in the expansion of the existing Adult Congenital Heart Disease Program across the Bay Area. The faculty member will be required to supervise and teach residents, fellows and medical students rotating within the Division of Cardiology. It is preferable but not required that the selected candidate interpret and perform transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiograms related to complex ACHD. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical competencies, leadership and organizational skills, and an academic interest in either research, teaching and / or quality improvement, and will be supported by the Division of Cardiology and Department of Medicine in advancing their professional growth in their area of interest.
