GENERAL FUNCTION:

As part of the Digital Operations team in Digital Consumer, this role will lead modernization of legacy platforms, help guide and lead Production Readiness for Mobile Modernization squads, all while following best practices and standards representative of a world-class IT operations team. Additionally, this individual will take responsibility for ensuring we have consistent application performance monitoring and proactive alerting across Digital Consumer for our business critical products. As a tech lead, they will coordinate and drive results from our partner L1 organization to leverage these monitoring and alerting tools to improve application uptime and minimize customer impacts.

While operating within the Bank's risk appetite, achieves results by consistently identifying, assessing, managing, monitoring, and reporting risks of all types.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Leverage in depth knowledge and experience to guide and push our software teams to modernize the software platforms we own - HI, Web Methods, ATM WS, eBanking, OFX, etc.
  • Provide technical knowledge and leadership at a technical level across the Digital Operations squad
  • Work collaboratively with other principal and lead software engineers to define system architectures and design solutions
  • Integrate with other members of our Global Digital Operations team to ensure high availability and reliability of Digital Consumer applications
  • Participate in communities of practice by contributing to and following standards, reviewing others code, and sharing knowledge
  • Achieve operational excellence by monitoring critical processes using standard tools such as Dynatrace, Splunk, etc.
  • Lead the proper operationalization of our applications, including robust monitoring, proactive alerting and continuous improvement principles to ensure high application availability and customer satisfaction
  • Maintain effective partnerships with operations and engineering teams to drive service improvement
  • Remain current on IT trends pertaining to their area of practice
  • Assist with problem resolution for end users and customers
  • Contribute to the definition of operational procedures for software development
  • Maintain appropriate controls and documentation to ensure compliance of audit requirements
  • Other duties as assigned

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Information Systems or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Six+ years of engineering or other IT work experience relevant to the position.
  • Knowledge of object-oriented and functional software design.
  • Experience with monitoring tools such as Dynatrace, Splunk cloud, etc.
  • Familiarity with DevOps tools such as Jenkins, GIt, etc.
  • Experience with Git and GitHub.

  • Understanding of Software Development Methodologies and SDLC
  • Debugging
  • Understanding of security best practices.

Principal Digital Engineer Total Base Pay Range 89,100.00 - 178,600.00 USD Annual LOCATION -- Cincinnati, Ohio 45227
