Title: Teaching Assistant Immersive Code Camp

Position Summary:

STLCC Workforce Solutions Group Division is seeking two highly motivated individuals who will serve as Teaching Assistants, supporting the Lead Instructor in delivering course content for the Immersive CodeCamp in partnership with Launch Code. This is full-time educational experience for students wanting to get started with a career in programming. CodeCamp is 16 weeks long, with class sizes between 20 and 30 students. The curriculum is delivered by course staff, which consists of one Lead Instructor and Teaching Assistants. The curriculum consists of procedural programming and web programming fundamentals in Python, with additional job-ready skills taught in Java or C#.

The position will assist with online class work assignment platform. Normal work hours are 9am-5pm Mon-Fri.

Primary Duties Performed

* Supports the Lead Instructor in delivering course content
* Helps the Lead Instructor in administering the course, including grading and attendance
* Works one-on-one with every student in the class to ensure optimal support and learning
* Can program in a variety of languages, including object-oriented; dynamically- and statically-typed; compiled and interpreted
* Have experience presenting programming concepts in both verbal and written settings
* Stay up-to-date on current programming trends and practices Possess a strong desire to work with driven individuals and help them succeed
* Have excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Can demonstrate an outcome-oriented work ethic

Required Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED.

Salary Range:

$22.17 per hour
