What you’ll be doing...

Verizon is in search of a talented Product Management professional who possesses a unique balance of technical depth and functional domain knowledge, product management and marketing expertise and strong interpersonal skills. The successful candidate will be focused on creating customer value by delivering products and business outcomes that solve critical business challenges.

The Edge Solutions Product Management organization defines, build business cases, launches and manages Verizon’s Hardware, Software, Maintenance/Support, and Professional Services products in the B2B space. We have an exciting opportunity for an innovative and agile product manager to develop, launch and manage Verizon’s new software solutions services portfolio globally. While the initial assignment will be around Software Services, future assignments may expand role to other disciplines like hardware, professional services and IoT.

More specifically:

  • Guide the product strategy and roadmap through collaboration with vendors and other product teams, determining product features and functionality based on customer input and market dynamics.
  • Develop new product concepts based on your industry experience and relationships with customers and prospects, always ensuring that Legal, Regulatory, Tax, Finance, and other key Verizon organizations are in support globally.
  • Collaborate with product development to communicate your plans, so they can develop flexible systems functionality and solid processes in support of your product.
  • Partner with product marketing to define the go-to-market strategy - helping your marketing counterparts understand positioning documents, key benefits and targeted customer persona.
  • Track and measure financial success of the portfolio ensuring revenue, costs, and margins achieve projected goals.

    The Software Subscription Services space is one of Verizon’s major focus areas and is experiencing rapid growth. Whether related to cybersecurity services, managed services, cloud delivered, virtual or advanced communications and collaboration services, Verizon is building flexible Software Services that will lead the industry and help customers protect and transform their business.

    Who You'll Work With

    Frequent interactions with Sales, Service Delivery and Business Development teams, Legal, Tax and Regulatory require multi-faceted talent, flexibility and strong knowledge in Product Line Management and Marketing.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or six or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience as a services portfolio manager, or hardware/software product manager.

Even better if you have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or Engineering/Science. MBA preferred.
  • Proven five or more years of experience as a services portfolio manager, or hardware/software product manager.
  • A combination of sales and product management experience is preferred.
  • A solid understanding of the Security/cyber security market, Verizon and competitor technologies, customer needs and industry trends
  • A strong understanding of software services.
  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate contracts and influence actions with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to identify, prioritize and deliver measurable results using frameworks and sound business practices, understanding cross-functional dependencies.
  • Strong business and technical writing skills, coupled with strong presentation skills.
  • Well-developed teamwork, collaboration and program management skills.

Customer experience and market demand focus - ability to incorporate customer input, understand the end-to-end customer journey and business goals, and how our partners and competitors play in this space.

Product Management expertise – utilize customer and market needs to create and lifecycle manage new business cases and associated offers, expertly utilize the 4 P’s of Marketing in your product delivery, negotiate with and build a diverse partner ecosystem, collaborate daily with other products and staff to create strong and timely product solutions. You possess strong analytical and presentation skills, and are comfortable presenting to small and large audiences in person and over the phone/video.

Technologically savvy - ability to recognize, capture, and implement relevant technology disruptions that ensure Verizon’s leadership. Sales or Product Management experience in the software space.

Global Business acumen - ability to tie services strategy to overall business strategy, linking service performance and impact to financials, can specify outcome in tangible metrics and measures (key performance indicators). Has worked with many regions and countries to develop and/or promote software products and understands tax, regulatory and import/export implications related to software solutions.
